The ERC "Kick-Off" meeting was held on November 8, 2011, in the new CSNE headquarters in Russell Hall. Although construction in Russell Hall was not yet completed, the meeting was able to go on in the conference hall and "Discovery Pod" areas. NSF personnel provided CSNE faculty, students and staff with an overview of the ERC and guidance about how to proceed over the next five years. The meeting concluded with lab demonstrations (see photos below) and a dinner at the Portage Bay Cafe.
