CSNE REU/YSP Presentations

The 2012 CSNE Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) program and Young Scholars Program (YSP) ended last week.  Students in these programs spent 10 weeks conducting research in CSNE laboratories.  To share the results of their work, the students presented their research to the CSNE community in the form of 10 minute talks followed by 5 minutes of questions from the audience.  All of the students did an excellent job as you will see in their presentations below.

Rajesh Ranganathan Seminar

On August 23, 2012, Rajesh Ranganathan, Ph.D., Director of the Office of Translational Research at the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke, National Institutes of Health, presented a seminar at the CSNE titled "NINDS Accelerates Therapeutic and Device Discovery & Development."  

 

REU/YSP Presentations

Students who are participating in the CSNE Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) and Young Scholars Program will present their work in Mary Gates Hall on Wednesday, August 15 (9 am to noon) in a poster session and again on Tuesday, August 21 (9 am to 2:45 pm) in Russell Hall during a slide session (10 minute talk, 5 minutes of questions from the audience).  Everyone is welcome to attend both events.

Neuroscience Communication Fellowship

The Pacific Science Center (Seattle, WA) is recruiting neuroscientists to participate in their Science Communication Fellowship program.  The scientists would receive free professional development around science communication and participate in public programs at the museum as one of our Science Communication Fellows, a community of more than 80 scientists and engineers from many different research disciplines.

CSNE Members Elected to Washington State Academy of Sciencea

Congratulations to CSNE Interim Director Tom Daniel and CSNE faculty member Michael Dickinson for their election to the Washington State Academy of Sciences (WSAS)!  Tom and Michael were among 35 new members elected to the WSAS in recognition of their distinguished and continuing scientific achievements.   The formal induction into the WSAS will take place at the Museum of Flight in Seattle on September 20.
