Job Announcement - Software Developer

The University of Washington Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is looking for a software developer to join a research team as soon as possible. The software developer will join an NIH funded 3-year research project to develop and test a virtual reality game for improving standing balance in children with sensory system deficits. A second-generation game has been created and now needs other modifications.

CSNE at UW Engineering Discovery Days

The CSNE participated in the University of Washington Engineering Discovery Days on April 20, 2012.  Lise Johnson (CSNE Education Manager), Eric Chudler (CSNE Executive Director) and graduate students Devapratim Sarma and Brian Mogen spent the day speaking with many precollege students about neural engineering.  In the photographs below, Dev and Lise demonstrate the P300 speller.

CSNE In the News

The CSNE made the news in two places this week:

1.  US News & World Report (Science Section, April 10, 2012) published an article titled "Advancing Health and Robotics" by Marlene Cimons.  This article describes the creation of the CSNE and its mission.

NSF Funding Opportunity

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has announce a new funding opportunity titled Computational and Data-Enabled Science and Engineering (CDS&E) in Engineering (CDS&E-ENG).  These programs will support fundamental research that addresses computational and data-related challenges in science and engineering.

Online Resources from USC

Prof. Francisco Valero-Cuevas at the University of Southern California has made several resources available that are sure to interest everyone associated with neural engineering.  First, presentations for the seminar series, "Engineering, Neuroscience & Health", are available online.   Second, Prof. Valero-Cuevas has placed his full lectures for his Neuromuscular Systems class online.  Many thanks to Prof. Valero-Cuevas for making these materials freely available.
