Vijay Iyer is the neuroscience community liaison for Mathworks (www.mathworks.com: -> https://www.mathworks.com/), the company responsible for MATLAB and other mathematical analysis tools. Scientific computing is involved in nearly every type of neuroscience study today: from the cognitive to the cellular, from in vivo to in silico. As the boundaries of neuroscience are expanding, so too are the needs and expectations for computing at every scale, from microprocessors to supercomputers. Today’s MATLAB offers many features, Deep Learning, Big Data handling, embedded hardware targets, and more, while striving to make these technologies accessible and productive for neuroscientists and neuroengineers.
